Good news for the many Kaiser Chiefs fans in Bulgaria – the rock band from Leeds will play for the first time in Bulgaria on July 8, following the release of their last year’s revolutionary album - The Future Is Medieval. Kaiser Chiefs received many awards in the last 6 years, including three BRIT awards, Ivor Novello and many more. The band has sold over 6 Million records, being regarded as one of the best live acts along with Green Day, Foo Fighters and U2. Kaiser Chiefs have on their account many historical gigs in London, in their native Leeds and all around the world.

On July 7 (Saturday), on the first festival day, the heavy metal fans will have the pleasure to hear the pride of Belfast, SWEET SAVAGE, the band, regarded as one of the pioneers of the New Wave in British Heavy Metal, along with legends like Iron Maiden, Saxon, Motorhead and Def Leppard

After adding to their discography 3 highly successful studio albums, released during the second half of the past decade, Kaiser Chiefs decided to take a hazardous yet carefully considered move and enjoy a certain rest.

Since their last spectacular gigs at Wembley, London in 2009, the band members do not waste any time. During the three years of hiatus, Nick Hodgson and Simon Rix establish the label Chewing Gum Records, signing The Neats, and work on many other projects among which producing The Vaccines and composing songs for Dame Shirley Bassey, Mark Ronson and Duran Duran.

2011 is the turning point for Kaiser Chiefs. They significantly change the presentation of their music to the listeners and totally rearrange their way of working, in terms of both creativity and new album releasing.

The plans for a comeback emerge during a conversation between the vocalist Rick Wilson and his friend Oli Beel, while on vacation. Wilson’s idea is to avoid the senseless promo preceding the album release, which continues for months afterwards. He’d rather present the music to the audience instantly when ready, with no preliminary talks and warm-ups, so that the fans and music critics have the opportunity to listen and share their opinion. This is how The Future Is Medieval comes to life. Coincidentally, the proper qualification, of Wilson’s new vacation friend, becomes instrument in implementing this model and introducing some brand new methods during the project realization.

Meanwhile, Hodgson has established a studio in the basement of their label, where he creates songs for various artists, such as Tony Viskonti (the famous producer of David Bowie), Eton Jones and Owen Morris. This is the place where the basic sound of the alum is set and the band is able to work peacefully and more concentrated, having decided to not make a fuss in advance.

Released out of the blue on June 3, 2011, quite unexpected by the audience, The Future Is Medieval is bringing in the pure spontaneity and band’s excitement about making their music once again, paying homage to the different music influences the band has had during the years – a bit of new wave, a slight nod to David Bowie, a surprising turn to Pink Floyd, both musically and visually, and just a bunch of The Who to wrap up the mix that makes the record one of their best initial productions.

Their fourth album is simply a revolution in the music industry in general. On their official web site, the band provides the fans with the opportunity to listen to the twenty new songs and make their own version of The Future is Medieval, including 10 of them. Anyone who wants can show his own idea for album cover and upload it to the site for selling, thus gaining one pound sterling from each sale of his particular album version. The 20 songs, rather suitable for a double CD, are considered by fans more mature and better than anything the band has ever done, especially the listeners’ favourites Little Shocks, Out Of Focus, Back In December, If You Will Have Me and Man on Mars.

The result for the band, its fans and the wider range of people, being struck by Kaiser Chiefs’ music for a first time, is greater interest, which is additionally pumped up by the original idea for the release of The Future Is Medieval. Within 6 years, this is their fourth album in a row in Top 10 of world charts. As if they’ve never stopped, Kaiser Chiefs continue making spectacular concerts on stadiums and festivals all over Europe.
